When I am called to duty, God

 Whenever flames may rage,

 Give me strength to save a life,

 Whatever be its age

 Help me embrace a little child

 before it is too late

 or save an older person

 From the horror of that fate.

 Enable me to be alert

 And hear the weakest shout

 And quickly and efficiently

 To put the fire out.

 I want to fill my calling

 And to give the best in me

 To guard my every neighbor

 And protect their property.

 And if, according to your will,

 I am to lose my life,

please bless with your protection

 Fireman Daddy

Today we saw a fire. And I was really scared.  My daddy is a fireman.

And I know he was there. My daddy helps everyone. And he's not afraid at all.

He's big, strong, & tough. But last night I saw him cry alone.

He was kneeling by his bed. And talking out loud and said...

Watch over my brothers. And all the others that were there.

His radio beeped and daddy ran. He ran right passed me and was gone.

I know he has to help somebody. My daddy's job is long.

I know my daddy loves us. And has a job to do.

There are other boys & girls. Who need his help too.

Watch over my daddy as he goes about his way.

Let him help everybody.
