Dolores Parker, 76 and Sylvia Parker, 73, both of Honesdale died Wednesday as a result of injuries sustained in a three vehicle crash along Route 6 just east of the entrance to the Wyoming County Fairgrounds.

Police say that Dolores Parker was driving a 1999 Chevrolet van east on Route 6 while Robert Bieber, 46, of Mehoopany, was driving west in a 1998 Ford Taurus. Parker crossed over into the westbound lane for reasons still being investigated, although unsubstantiated reports say Parker suffered a heart attack while driving the van, causing it to swerve out of its lane. The van sideswiped a truck and trailer and then hit Bieber's car head on. No details were given on the driver of the truck and trailer.

Parker was pronounced dead at the scene by the Wyoming County Coroner. Sylvia Parker was pronounced dead at CMC Scranton, where she was transported for treatment. Bieber and his passenger Amy Vosberg, 27, were both seriously injured; Bieber was life flighted to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre and Vosburg was taken to CMC Hospital.

Police say that Dolores Parker was using a seat belt; it is not known whether Sylvia Parker was using a seat belt at the time of the crash. It is also not known if Bieber used a seat belt, or whether his passenger did.

There were also three children in the rear seat of Bieber's vehicle; their names have not yet been released. A six year old girl suffered unknown injuries and it is not known if she was properly secured in the vehicle. A four year old male was also injured, but it is not known how severely and it is not known whether he was properly secured. A year old female infant sustained moderate injury and was in a safety seat, police say.

The investigation into precise causes of the accident is ongoing, and on Friday, State Police reconstruction teams were on site working to piece together the timeline of the accident
